Vittoria Sisca is a PhD candidate in Image, Language, Figure: Forms and Modes of Mediation at the University of Milan. Her research focuses on the processes of the incorporation of habitus, with the aim of rethinking the notion of gender as a “social construct” and redefining its practical implications. Her interests include feminist, phenomenological, and pragmatist interpretations of the concept of habitus, with particular attention to the ways in which these approaches have employed this notion to reflect on bodily freedom within the social space.
